'COULD YOU DROP ME OFF HERE, PLEASE?'

Welcome to my personal blog Hande's Flying Carpet!
Thank you for stopping by! Hande's Flying Carpet is a platform that I set up to share news, my observations, thoughts and highlights from my life in Italy and especially Milan. I hope this site that I've prepared will also capture you and take you along with me on this journey.
Now sit back and enjoy the moment!

Let's meet!
Hello, I'm Hande! I was born in Ankara in 1994. After completing my Bachelor's degree in Political Science at Bilkent University in Ankara, I continued my Master's degree in International Relations at University of Milan. Currently in Milan, I carry on with my life sitting behind my white desk with my pink computer, and my fish, Köfte (Meatball), whisking its tail right next to me.
Although I am known for my vivacity, I believe my pen is stronger. My writing adventure, which developed with compositions throughout my education life, took shape thanks to the internship I did in the Habertürk Newspaper's Ankara Edition and 34 of my news articles published. And, this feeling has filled me with words that cannot be stoppable.
Thus, I decided to start this blog to pair up these overflowing words to where they belong, my articles. In this blog, I'll take you to a tour in my life in Milan; my observations throughout these 4 years in Italy, the odds and the laughs and many more.
Hope to meet you at the dots,
Hande Yazar
Why 'Flying Carpet' Dear?
With Erasmus Program, I had the chance to spend a semester of my Bachelor's degree in Ireland. After meeting couple of brilliant minded people, I received two questions when they heard I was from Turkey; 'Turkey is covered by desert, right? '. Trying to get out of the shock that was unexpected since it was my first time abroad, the second wave hit: 'Then you can provide your transportation by camels..'. When I got rid of that look full of surprise and tragedy on my face, I thought why I'm exhausting myself and replied, 'Yes and if you are lucky, you can even use a flying carpet!'.

Later on, this scene that probably would not even pass 3.1 in IMDB, has stayed in my mind. In fact, when I got similar reactions from other countries I have been to, I thought it wouldn't hurt if I had a flying carpet! Like Aladdin and Jasmine, without tax, without thinking if there is a raise in gas again; I decided to give this name to my blog saying, 'Why not?'.
